Black Man Is Tortured In Arrest by Lafayette City PD "Fear For his Life"...........Lafayette, Louisiana 09/10/0

LAFAYETTE - Kevin Alexander showed his burns, Mr. Alexander was the subject of a drug sting operation, during his arrest, Alexander was repeatedly shocked by a Lafayette City police officer. The Lafayette Police Department has launched an internal investigation that has resulted in the officer responsible for inflicting those burns being placed on administrative leave. Mr. Alexander was still under a warrant for his arrest.

On Monday, September 13, just before noon, Kevin Alexander turned himself in to the FBI office in Lafayette. While at the federal offices, Alexander made a formal statement, complaining about the Lafayette Police Department's treatment towards him during the raid.


Editor's Note: Black Action Net talked with Executive Director of the Louisiana Chapter of the ACLU, Joe Cook, Mr. Cook expressed concern about the use of stun guns in general. He also feels that there are no standard for the use of stun guns on suspects. Black Action Net will continue to stay on top of the story.......................
